I want 40 cents back.

So, I was reading today’s Straits Times. I zoomed straight to the funnies in the Life section. After reading and re-reading the most important half page of the paper, my eyes wandered upwards. It was by Nicholas Fang who has a column in the Life section, Straight Talk. He was writing about sex at […]

Where to hang out

Where can you go almost mid-week on Thursday night to have a beer and unwind in the safety of like-minded patrons? What about on a Saturday night after a long harsh week and all you want to do is indulge in some really good music. Where else but Wala Wala. Everyone knows Wala Wala in […]

Blu Jaz

Who would have thought that among that dosais and dhals sizzling in Little India you can eat damn fine burgers. Not the anemic skinny-like-supermodel burger-lite but the real deal. Huge, Juicy and full of flavour! Oral pleasure!

Who would have thought that among all the bhangra and bollywood bumping in Little India you can hear damn […]

Other blogs in Singapore

( sites and Reviews )

Having recently jumped on the blogging bandwagon on Singapore’s information highway , I paused to survey the local blogosphere. (just how many tech cliche-metaphors can I squeeze into one paragraph?) And this is what I saw!

james seng A true geek blogging in Singapore. Not the usual fare that Sim Lim Square attracts on […]

nation

So just a little update about the Nation Party… I was offered a free ticket if I volunteered to pack up tiny safer sex kits and distribute them during the party…. so the whole team was there… and we were setting things up… prepping ourselves for the big party… then we were told to clear […]

The wonderings

Being a male in a foreign land following your wife away because of work, staying at home doing the dishes, the laundry, going to the gym to work out, cooking the meals before the wife comes home. These are not the things a MAN was brought up to believe. Where is the bacon one might […]

Attend the Masses

you have to know who your audience is… and its not who you want to be, its what you’re trying to achieve - there is no “I” in success.

idle pursuits

Excerpt from PM Goh’s speech:
“…To encourage creativity, we have built the Esplanade arts centre. It is a big investment. But it is a clear signal that we understand the importance of arts and culture in making Singapore a cosmopolitan city.
….
They (creative people) want an authentic street and neighbourhood environment, a thriving music and arts scene, […]

Finger Dialin’ Good!

It was primetime TV right after the National Day Parade , nestled in between the spankingly original Singapore Idol.

There! There was the new KFC ad! KFC if you remember was orginally called Kentucky FRIED Chicken. Seeing as how people associate the word “fried” with greasy and unhealthy, it was rebranded as KFC.

At […]

Health Food-not.

A tantalising larger than life poster, boasted of exquisite fusion platters of health cuisine, drew me up to an obsure corner of Raffles City on the 2nd Floor. Aiwo was the name of the copycat conveyor belt fast food - touting an all you can eat buffet for SGD 14.95 or something to that […]

Kopi Part deux

There has alway been a spot for the smell of coffee. I have never mustered the delight for the actual cup of coffee though. Coffee Milkshake, ice-cream, cakes - sure. But coffee, no thanks. Due to the gourmet coffee explosion (Starbucks, Coffee whatever places do not count), I have reccently had a close orgasmic experience […]

More Sarongs

( sites )

I was introduced to this website with a similiar namesake to the one I’m writing for: sarongpartygirl .I have become someone attached to it. It is a good dose of candidness and humour. And I relate - to some degree.

Another favorite online read is StoneForest. A mixture of fiction and editorial by 2 gentlemen. […]

The Death Star will be completed on schedule.

Notice the big picture on the front page of the Straits Times today? Doesn’t Lucas look like the hologram of the emperor?

The last two Lucasfilm outings have been a little like Las Vegas. Very flashy, the triumph of money over taste. And way too much gadgetry, not enough soul. “TPM” and “AOTC” used alot […]

This American Rocket Man’s Life

Here is a great free mp3 (right click save please). Its an interesting remake of Elton John’s Rocket Man.

I found it while listening to a radio show called This American Life. There are decent Real Audio streams of all their past programs.

I found this in a episode from 2002 :

Episode 223

Critical mass

( Musings )

Uncontrolled nuclear chain reactions need critical mass to happen. Maybe uncontrolled social chain reactions require the same critical mass in the number of individuals involved.

What would that number be?

(If love counts as an uncontrolled reaction then the number is >1. If self-love also counts then it’s any number >0, I suppose.)
